Be Smart - Stay Apart

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Southwestern Public Health and the Municipality of Bayham urges residents to practice physical distancing to stop the spread of the virus.

BE SMART - STAY APART

Although the Municipality of Bayham is hopeful everyone will voluntarily comply with Provincial Orders and directions the Municipality of Bayham provides the following information for enforcement:

  • Persons can report violations to the OPP through two mechanisms:
    1. 1-888-310-1122
    2. Citizen Reporting Portal
  • The Municipal By-law Enforcement Contractor is conducting patrols of the Municipality for compliance with Provincial Orders.

The County of Elgin is urging all residents and cottagers to avoid any non-essential travel, including heading to rural cottages and seasonal/secondary residences such as condominiums and trailer parks. The County of Elgin recognizes that while people might like to socially distance themselves at their cottage and/or seasonal residence during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, now is not the right time. Non-residents of Elgin, who are usually welcome in Elgin County, are being asked during this time to refrain from staying at their seasonal home and to consider the impacts a higher, unexpected presence can have on rural populations.
