Am I on the Voters' List?
QUALIFICATIONS OF ELECTORS
A person is entitled to vote in a municipal election if he or she on Voting Day,
- resides in the local municipality, or is the owner or tenant of land in the municipality, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and
- is a Canadian citizen, and
- is at least 18 years old, and
- is not prohibited from voting by law.
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) maintains the Voters' List for all Ontario municipalities. Before an election, MPAC provides each municipality with a preliminary Voters' List based on information obtained through its enumeration list. The Municipality then shares this list with its voters to make sure it's complete and accurate.
