and will reopen Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 8:30am - 4:30pm (regular business hours)

With the current Canada Post strike, residents are reminded that failure to receive a tax or utility bill, or mailing a payment during the strike, does not relieve you from payment nor liability of penalty/interest of a late payment.
To avoid any missed bills or late payments, we encourage you to sign up for Paperless Billing & also enroll in Pre-Authorized Payments by visiting our Tax & Utility Bills page on our website. You can also find other methods of payment on our Bills & Payments page as well.
Fire Prevention Week runs from October 5 - 11, 2025
The 2025 Fire Prevention Week theme is:
“Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home”
This year’s theme works to educate everyone about using Lithium-Ion Batteries in your home safely. The campaign stresses how important it is to BUY, CHARGE, and RECYCLE safely when it comes to lithium-ion batteries. Fire Station Open Houses:
Straffordville Station: Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Port Burwell Station: Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Friday, August 8, 2025 - a fire ban is in effect for the entire County of Elgin – which includes Bayham. All burn permits are now suspended and any open-air/recreational fires are prohibited. See the NOTICE from the County of Elgin for further information.
Monday, August 18, 2025 at noon, the Fire Ban across Elgin County, originally declared on Friday, August, 8, 2025, has been lifted. Please see NOTICE.
