Half Load Season - March 1 to April 30, 2026

The half-load season on certain municipal roads runs from March 1 to April 30 each year. Trucks are subject to reduced load restrictions in line with the Highway Traffic Act and By-law 2009-045. These measures aim to safeguard roads and bridges from potential damage during the spring thaw and prevent the formation of severe potholes, cracking, and deformation that occur when heavy vehicles travel on softened, saturated roads. Traffic and Parking in Bayham is governed by Bylaw # 2025-013 and is available here for viewing. 

Most common by-law infractions:

- Park on Boulevard
- Park on street longer than 24 hr
- Park on street between 2 am & 6 am from Nov 1 to Mar 31
- Park in designated parking space without accessible permit
- Stop on highway except right-hand side of two-way road
- Park in municipal lot where no parking sign erected
- Park exceeding 2 hr where sign erected
