Half Load Season - March 1 to April 30, 2026

The half-load season on certain municipal roads runs from March 1 to April 30 each year. Trucks are subject to reduced load restrictions in line with the Highway Traffic Act and By-law 2009-045. These measures aim to safeguard roads and bridges from potential damage during the spring thaw and prevent the formation of severe potholes, cracking, and deformation that occur when heavy vehicles travel on softened, saturated roads. Hydrant Flushing

The Municipality of Bayham, in partnership with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), will be conducting spring hydrant flushing from April 27 to May 8. This work includes flushing all municipal hydrants as part of a regular maintenance program to maintain water quality and ensure the proper operation of the water distribution system.

During this time, residents may experience temporary discolored water and/or reduced water pressure. If discoloration occurs, residents are advised to run cold water taps until the water clears and to avoid doing laundry until water clarity is restored.
