Emergency Preparedness

You can't predict an emergency, but you can prepare for one. Emergency Preparedness suggests focusing on specific hazards or emergency situations and consider if you are prepared to deal with those emergencies.

Emergency Management Ontario has great information on how you can prepare including guides, presentations, forms and activity sheets.

Emergency Preparedness Week

Emergency Preparedness Week (EPW) is a national awareness initiative and an opportunity for you to take action to ensure you're prepared to protect yourself, your household and your community, during an emergency.

Emergency Preparedness Week takes place annually in May. The dates for 2026 are May 3 - 9.

Each year has a theme. The theme for 2025 was 'Plan for every season!' The 2026 theme has not yet been announced, so check back soon.

Emergency Response Plan

The Municipality of Bayham is required to adopt and review its Emergency Response Plan.

Every official, municipal department and agency must be prepared to carry out assigned responsibilities in an emergency. The response plan has been prepared to provide key officials, agencies and departments of the Municipality of Bayham with important emergency response information related to:

  • Arrangements, services and equipment; and
  • Roles and responsibilities during an emergency.

Emergency Information

To ensure community preparedness before, during, and after an emergency, the Municipality uses the News Module on its website along with Voyent Alert! to provide timely and detailed information to residents.
