Development Charges Background Study

The Municipality published a new Development Charges Background Study on June 5, 2025 to consider development charges for fire, roads, and parks and recreation services.

The public meeting will be held at 6:30pm on June 19, 2025 in the Municipal Council Chambers, Lower Level, 56169 Heritage Line, Straffordville.

With the pending Canada Post strike, residents are reminded that failure to receive a tax or utility bill, or mailing a payment during the strike, does not relieve you from payment nor liability of penalty/interest of a late payment.

Beach Paid Parking

A pilot program has been approved for the 2025 season for paid parking at the Port Burwell East Beach.

Port Burwell Municipal East Beach

The Municipal East Beach is located at 1 Robinson Street, Port Burwell. 

The Municipal East Beach will be flying the Blue Flag Beach flag for the 2025 season joining the ranks of the most pristine beaches in southwestern Ontario. Blue Flag designation requires the Municipality to maintain sustainable management practices with responsible stewardship of local ecosystems. The Blue Flag season generally runs from Victoria Day weekend through to Labour Day. A paid parking pilot program is taking place for the 2025 season. Visit the Beach Paid Parking page for further information. 

Public permanent washrooms are available mid-May to mid-October 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, with seasonal portable washrooms available at the beach, Marine Museum parking lot and Memorial Park.

Seasonal water testing takes place from June to August through Southwestern Public Health. For more information on seasonal Beach Water Testing, visit the Southwestern Public Health website.
