Nomination forms for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor and School Board Member in the Municipal Election to be held Monday, October 26, 2026 will be accepted until Thursday, August 20, 2026 during regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) and on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Non-Resident Annual Seasonal Parking Permits for the East Beach Parking between May 1 to September 30, Monday to Thursday is $85.52 inclusive of tax and fees, and can be purchased by accessing this LINK on the HONK website. Friday to Sunday is $22/day and can be paid using the QR code posted onsite.

Southwestern Public Health has issued an Environmental Health Update regarding high nitrate level in the drinking water supply at Richmond Community Drinking Water System. Please see NOTICE for more information.

The year 2026 is recognized as the International Year of Volunteers with this year's theme being ‘Ignite Volunteerism’. In connection with this, it is also National Volunteer Week, which takes place April 19-25, 2026. During this time Volunteer Elgin will be hosting their 2nd annual Volunteer Fair at the St Thomas Public Library on April 25 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm., which connects local community organizations, with residents interested in volunteering. Residents will have the opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities, meet representatives from a wide range of local organizations across Elgin, and discover ways to contribute to causes they care about.

The Curbside Bulk Garbage Program runs in the months of April, May, July, September and October with a $25/load fee.
The next curbside bulk garbage pick-up for this year is scheduled for Monday, May 11, with a registration and payment deadline of Tuesday, May 5.
NOTE - Online registration and fee paid to the Municipal Office is required at least 1 week prior to the pick-up date. Only those who complete the registration form and provide payment by the deadline will be included on the list.

Leaf and yard waste is collected curbside in urban areas throughout Bayham over a 4 week period in both the Spring and Fall, on Mondays, unless otherwise noted.
2026 Spring Dates: Starting Mondays on April 27, May 4 and 11, and ending on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
All leaf and yard waste must be placed at the curb by 7:00 am, in either paper bags, open reusable containers, or bundled in lengths not exceeding 4 ft. All individual containers must weigh less than 22 kilograms (48 pounds). Leaf and yard waste items do not require a bag tag.
